What is an open screening?

A platform for filmmakers to get their work and works-in-progress screened for an audience.

All films under 15 minutes screened — first come first served.

(Local filmmakers will get screening priority, but all are welcome to submit.)

Screenings end with an optional group discussion with the filmmakers.

Open Screening Charlotte provides a theme for each event as a point of inspiration, but is not necessarily a strict requirement.

We accept one film per filmmaker per screening.

We accept all films, except:

• films created with AI

• films that depict hate speech
